Maitland, FL (September 15, 2017) – Birchmier Construction Incorporated, a 25-year-old commercial general contractor that services the state of Florida, has broken ground on The Loop a 100,000 square foot, three-story, self-storage facility. Located on two acres on Ball Park Road in Kissimmee, the facility will be one hundred percent climate-controlled, be constructed with pre-cast exterior walls and is anticipated to open in May of 2018.
Following a lengthy bidding process, BCI was awarded the project by Morningstar Properties, an owner, and operator of self-storage properties in the Southeast and Western United States. The company has developed, acquired and operated over 170 self-storage properties totaling in excess of 11.5 million square feet and thus is very selective of who builds their facilities.
“We knew we not only had to be competitive in our pricing but more so extremely knowledgeable in the intricacies involved in building with not only pre-cast exterior walls but also with the complex interior metal structure and modern design techniques that the plans called for,” commented BCI’s CEO Randy Birchmier. “We have ample experience in constructing industrial and self-storage properties, and we share Morningstar’s vision of working together in partnership to create a positive and enjoyable working environment, so it really has been a great match.”
Having built self-storage facilities in Lake Worth and Sarasota, The Loop project furthers Birchmier’s portfolio of one of commercial real estate’s most active segments.
