Responsibilities include: – Analyze plans and specifications to determine the scope of work – Assemble and solicit subcontractor/vendor participation – Organize, post, and maintain bid documents utilizing on-line file sharing systems – Able to prepare conceptual estimates off of a preliminary floor plan or sketch. – Manage the hard bid estimate through the whole process – Document effectively and professionally in writing and orally with owners and design consultants – Prepare accurate quantity take-offs assignments – Monitor subcontractor/vendor participation during the bidding process – Field pre-bid questions and notify bidders of resolutions and/or addendums – Participate in subcontractor/vendor proposal reviews and scope confirmation – Assist in the presentation of proposals
Education & Experience: 4-year construction/engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience is preferred, but not required. A minimum of five years of construction estimating experience is required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: – General knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control – Read and understand drawings – Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook experience – Knowledge of Sage Timberline Estimating and PlanSwift on-screen take off would be beneficial – Successful candidate to be self-motivated, organized, and able to quickly understand and use department’s systems and software
